Planned Reunion Events:
Seattle is considered the jewel of the Northwest and
is appropriately named the Emerald City. Located on Puget Sound in the Western side of the state of Washington, we are
known for our rain. Truthfully places like Pittsburgh and New Orleans get more annual rain than Seattle. Thankfully
for the rain we have clean water, clear days and green landscape. Washington State is geographically divided by the
Cascade Mountains. The Eastern side is dryer and hotter in the summer, resembling a dessert climate. The winter
is colder and more prone to deeper and drier snow accumulations. Here in Western Washington we are privileged to have
a climate that doesn’t get too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. We have the mountains within an hour drive, Snoqualmie Falls, the Puget Sound waterway with ferryboats and the Olympic
Peninsula that has the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park, near Forks. Many of you may be interested in taking
your grandchildren west to Forks, where the Twilight movie sagas are set. There are many opportunities for beach or
mountain exploring, viewing the "seastacks", charter fishing, whale watching along the coast, or visiting some oof
the many wineries across the state. Others may want to couple your trip with a cruise to Alaska. For those
of you interested in making the most of your trip, you may want to extend your visit a couple of days to include a few of
these ideas. The Puget Sound area offers many unique experiences, all within a days drive. Help is available for
planning. During the reunion we will spend some time in Downtown Seattle one day, and then at the hotel the other day
with a memorial at the cemetery across from the hotel and a buffet luncheon catered by the hotel staff in the hospitality
room. We would like to collect the money for these
events soon, if you choose to go. This will ensure that we are able to buy the tickets ahead of time to assure us a
place on the boat. If you want to send one check for the T-shirts, boat ride/salmon bake and hotel luncheon, that would
be great. Friday
