Books in Local Schools:
In 2005 VVA Chapter 102 purchased 13 copies of "NAM, A Photographic History" by Leo J. Daugherty and Gregory Louis Mattson. In an effort to contribute
to the education of our students, we have donated a copy to each school we have visited. At
these presentations, In 2005, 2006, and 2007, Chapter 102 members have spoken to the student body about their experiences
while in country. We have a few presentations to go.
Katrina Assistance:
In the aftermath of the Gulf Coast devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, Chapter
102 made a $1,000 donation in 2006 to Habitat for Humanity. We requested that it be used in Mississippi,
and if possible, for a veteran.
VA Hospital, Seattle:
Chapter 102, responded to a request for help in 2006 by donating $500 to support non-funded needs (personal items)
during the holiday season. These went to hospitalized veterans at the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Healthcare System
at the Seattle VA Hospital.
