Our Chapter put this website up February 2007.  We wanted to use it to let others know about us, who we are, how to join with us, veteran programs available, how to find help, our mission and our goals.  With it, we can:
  • Help keep our members informed
  • Allow other VVA chapters and veteran groups to connect with us
  • Provide help for veterans (and their families or survivors) seeking assistance
  • Help educate veterans on their benefits and entitlements
  • Help in the education process of our students
  • Encourage membership in Vietnam Veterans of America
Our hope for this site is that it will help you, find answers to your questions, whether by our website content, or through links to other websites.  Each year at our booth at the Seattle Fremont neighboorhood's Fremont Fair, we can count on a number of young adults to visit us - they nearly always have a relative who was in country, they have questions, and they want to know more.  Some use the opportunity to add to the knowledge they learned in school.  They seem to find it fulfilling to talk with someone who was there.  Many vets who served there use it as an opportunity to reconnect, share experiences with the person with them, or us, learn more about benefits and entitlements, or make a new friend. Another subject we hear about is how to display and show respect for national colors.  We've included a section in our site providing information on that.   We've included links to organizations who provide assistance to veterans.

As we know, history repeats itself.  The returning veterans from Iraq, Afghanistan, the Gulf War, will need assistance just as the veterans of the Vietnam era, and those before them.  Some may have only a few simple questions, while others may be reconstructing their lives.  We hope they will find the information, links to veteran benefits and programs in this website helpful.

We value your comments about our site, and ask you to let us know of other links you feel may be helpfull for us to display here.
